A Proper Scandal by Esther Hatch

3.0

3 stars for me is a book that is “just okay.” The plot just wasn’t good until the very end. I just kept rolling my eyes at the constant reminders that Grace was so beautiful that men were throwing themselves at her or cornering her everywhere she went. Really? While I liked Nate, the whole entrapment storyline was so weird and out of place for that time period. Nate kept insisting he was a gentlemen, but constantly put himself in situations that would say otherwise and Grace was so awkward trying to seduce him in every corner in London. Why not just tell him what’s going on? After the parasol incident, I was hoping their relationship would develop into at least a friendship or begin to grow into more, but instead it was more of the same. I just didn’t connect with their love story. It felt more like desperation mixed with lust and I didn’t feel the chemistry. The relationship development didn’t feel genuine.
