His Revelry by Bailey Nicole

I used to think novellas were cruel because they are generally short, but I find myself changing my mind. This one was a recommendation I saw through my Instagram. I'm glad I took note of it because a good dark romance story is the only sucker punch to my feelings that I'd ever gleefully volunteer for. I mean, damn, 85 pages (on my Kindle, at least), and by the twenty-something page, I already wanted to punch something. I still enjoyed it, of course, but watching that amount of pain be put into words was just, oof. Definitely enjoyable, even short as it was.

Some important notes that bear mentioning: first, reviews are highly subjective, including mine. My opinion is meant to give an overview of what I saw/felt when I read it (and how it may or may not have made my brain explode). What I see might not be what you see, and what I like (or don't) might not be what you enjoy, which is just fine. My advice to anyone looking into a book? Read the premise, and if it interests you enough, give it a chance and form your own opinion.
