Heartstopper Volume 1 by Alice Oseman is a cute start to the story of Nick and Charlie, two guys figuring out their friendship and feelings for each other in high school. I found it a bit boring at times and not super action-packed—maybe because I usually read more serious stuff and don’t really go for graphic novels. But honestly, it was a nice break from all that.
The story is pretty chill, letting Nick and Charlie’s relationship grow at a natural pace. The art is really soft and expressive, which makes the emotions come through nicely. Oseman does a good job of bringing up important themes like acceptance and friendship without diving too deep into heavy details. Overall, it’s a sweet read if you’re looking for something lighter.
