Blizzard by John Rocco

4.0

The first time I ever read this was to a group of preschoolers in Arkansas, where they had never seen snow before and had no idea that blizzards were actually possible. This book is wonderful in that it could appear far fetched but it really isn't. The kids loved it. The premise and the illustrations are both nicely done.

For: snow lovers; readers wanting a book about survival and/or extreme weather.

Possible red flags: discussions of running out of food.
