“Expiration dates are for the weak.” Yes fam tell them! Might be my favourite sentence of the book so I had to highlight it. Now…

Let me tell you. I lapped that book up, not stopping for a sip of water between bites. I actually felt back when I had to put it down at times and longed to when I would be able to pick it back up. Is it… possible? Do I… not have anything bad to say about a book for once?

Dr. Carlsen, I’ve blocked my partner. You have until Friday night to hit me up before he realises that I blocked him. Damn, this book made me want to have a grad school romance…

But I’m not sure I understand this: Why would Anh tell Jeremy about her best friend dating a faculty member? I don’t get it. He didn’t need to know. I know it’s fiction but did we enter an alternate universe where people don’t get fired for dating their students?
But you know what made it all so much better? The main character is on the ace-spectrum. You read that correctly.

All in all, I really liked it and will be looking forward to Ali Hazelwood’s upcoming books announced for 2022. I liked it so much I even read the acknowledgments and ‘about the author’, which I normally don’t but I’m glad I did because I found this gem: “Ali Hazelwood is a multipublished author-alas, of peer-reviewed articles.” Same, Ali. It’s a gem of hope that I will one day publish a fictional novel on top of my articles and blogs.

Edit: hold up- there’s a whole extra bonus chapter somewhere!?
