Not Another Bad Date by Rachel Gibson

Did not finish book.
For a book that could be finished reading within four hours or less, it made me wonder why I waited so long to finally place it on my DNF shelf. Reading this book felt like a chore to me instead. I felt obligated to actually finish it because I hated seeing a DNFed paperback in my shelf.

It started out really well; the narration was quite quirky and the characters had sass. However, as I kept on reading, the story-telling gradually became bland. By the time I reached halfway, it lost its sizzle. But I continued reading it just for the sake of finishing it. Then the sex scene happened.

She moaned his name and arched her back with mindless need. She ran her fingers through his hair, watching through heavy eyes as he kissed her breasts and sucked her puckered nipple. He worked her over until her breath was choppy, then he worked his way down her body. He kissed her belly and just below her navel, his warm, moist tongue leaving a trail of fire.

Do you feel the heat? Because I sure as hell didn't. The she did-he did thing was just the last straw. I had to drop it for good.
