I didn't enjoy this installment as much as the first book in the series, The Second Ship. The good:
the idea is very original, and the second book was a nice continuation of the plot of the first book.

However... the author's writing style can be frustrating. The biggest problems was the POV characters. The three main characters, all high school students, just began to grate on my nerves. The author also liked to introduce even more secondary characters, sometimes even for a chapter or two, and I didn't like that. I might eventually read the last installment, but it's not at the top of my list.
