America #2 by Ming Doyle, José Villarubia, Gabby Rivera, Joe Rivera, Joe Quiñones

I'm loving this series so much! Perfect balance of action and character development!

This starts where the last one left off where America accidentally travelled back to WWII. She meets some of our favorite Marvel heroes before we go back to her college.

My daughter shows up! I won't spoil it but I screamed! The message in this book is so important: it's essentially against the current public school system's penchant for forcing students to all fit into a preset mold. The guest speaker explains that one person's best cannot be someone else's best and the school system should support those differences instead of discouraging them.

Anyway, this lecture happens and it's interrupted by a crisis. America has to go be super and it's awesome! It ends on kind of a cliffhanger.

What stands out the most about this series is Rivera's voice. She adds a humor and depth to America hat's refreshing seeing as she's mostly been a side character. We got a little of her backstory in Young Avengers but here we're getting a lot more of her as a character. I'm loving it!

Can't wait for the next issue!
