I received a free advanced copy of this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. I had high hopes, especially as it was being called "When Harry Met Sally for the millennial generation" and some reviews said it was "laugh out loud funny." I did read the entire thing in a day, but mostly I finished it because I felt the need to in order to write a review.

Let me just say I was not a fan. It took me forever to get interested in what was going on--probably more than half the book. I didn't like the main character, and she was never really fleshed out or given any sort of development. The whole relationship with Malcolm is just so strange -- I'm used to suspending my disbelief, but I couldn't do it this time. Maybe I just like more descriptive writing, but I never really felt the spirit of Portland at all, which many people refer to in their reviews. The author mentions mist and rain a few times, but that's about it. There were no "laugh out loud" moments for me, either.

Not a fan, really.
