Pain Killer: An Empire of Deceit and the Origin of America's Opioid Epidemic by Barry Meier
5.0
2022 : I really love how there is small snippets from the lives of those addicted and those impacted but this book focuses largely on the pharmaceutical, medical and corporate forces driving the epidemic.
This book doesn't go into as much detail as other books that I have read but it is better in several ways because it is so direct and concise. It is a short easy audiobook to get through and while this is my third time through the book in its entirety and I have reread several chapters as "stand-alone" I know I will reread this again.
