Would Like to Meet by Rachel Winters

Wow this was cute! It was really a pure romantic comedy and not necessarily a "Romance," and as much about the main character's development and her friendships as it was about the romantic relationship. Evie is a 20-something film agent's assistant. She's been an assistant a long time and wants to become an agent herself, but she's at risk of losing her job if "N.O.B.," aka acclaimed screenwriter Ezra, does hand in his pages in time. She agrees to help NOB write his romantic comedy by setting up meet-cutes for inspiration. If you're a fan of rom-com movies, you'll get all of the references.

What ensues is an entertaining, lighthearted romance with a few touching moments. Spoiler alert, NOB isn't the one Evie starts to fall for. She meets single Dad/widower Ben at her favorite coffee shop. It's friends-to-lovers and I'm always weak for that. Ben is so sweet, and I loved seeing him and Evie get to know each other.

I also enjoyed Evie's friend group. They're an important part of her life and that was realistic. I'm hoping we get to see more of them in a sequel. Evie is honestly pretty selfish in some parts of this book, but her friends forgive her and they have such a strong bond at the end.

The conclusion of the book is satisfying and I had a huge grin on my face when I reached the last page. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a light read!
