This book was pretty great. The story is dense and I found myself taking my time reading and savoring every word. It doesn't move at a lightning-fast speed but it definitely kept my attention. And that little scene at the end, left me shook. I thought, never mind, go read the book. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Aine wakes up on the edge of the woods and with no memories of who she is and how she got there. She has to rely on the kindness of strangers in order to get back on her feet. Even if her instincts tell her to be wary of the man named Lachlan.

She stays with him and they soon fall into a routine. Aine is even helping him with his woodworking and his furniture business.

Soon she begins to dream of her life before losing her memory. She feels a connection of sorts but still doesn't remember all the details. But she knows she was betrayed. And she knows that people are in danger.
