Wicked Bugs: The Louse That Conquered Napoleon's Army & Other Diabolical Insects by Amy Stewart
4.0
This book is a encyclopedia of insects that are destructive to plants, dangerous to people, bizarre, or just frightening. Stewart's ready combination of science, history, and folklore make each little vignette of a chapter entertaining and informative.
The illustrations for the insects are what takes this book a notch up in my opinion. I find them fun and more digestible than the physical and scientific descriptions.
If you are a hypochondriac, I strongly urge you to skip this one, or you will be imagining hosting strange parasites with every itch or skin prick.
