Anxiously Attached: Becoming More Secure in Life and Love by Jessica Baum

5.0

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm so glad there's another great book talking about attachment! As a therapist, I often suggest this book as an alternative to Attached because it's so much less stigmatizing - especially for folks who aren't anxiously attached. Despite the name of this book, I really appreciate how Jessica describes the other attachment styles with compassion (which Attached does *not*), and how much detail she goes into about the way folks with anxious attachment interact with folks who have other attachment styles. She also incorporates aspects of parts work, which I do in sessions as well. I know other comments say the language of the "little Me" was a little challenging for them to get through, but it integrates well with the parts framework and didn't mind it. I've also had clients share that this book has been so validating for them and helpful alongside our work in therapy. Thank you Jessica for this great resource!
