Young Justice, Vol. 3: Creature Features by Greg Weisman

I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway. I'm not really sure who this book was written for. Is it for viewers of the show? Or is it meant to draw in nonviewers. As a fan of the television series I am familiar with the characters and their personality traits. As a result, it wasn't hard for me to fall into the story. A non viewer would likely have trouble figuring out what was going on as few character traits were exhibited here. At the same time, there were frequent flashbacks to inform the reader what had happened in the show. Someone who watched the show and is interested enough in the series to get the comic book would not need this information.

The storylines were enjoyable, but moved a bit too quickly for my taste. I can understand the need for speed in a thirty minute cartoon, but in a book, there should be enough time to flesh things out a bit more. If you like the show, you will probably like this book. Nonviewers should skip it as it does not provide a good introduction to the plot or characters.
