Gwendy's Button Box by Richard Chizmar, Stephen King

4.0

A fabulous and engaging short read.
Perfect to boost your Goodreads challenge, while not being a cumbersome burden. And we need that type of books.
I am used to voluminous novels by Stephen King - hence this was unexpected and surprising, in a good way!
Gwendy is handed a button box with mysterious buttons and levers on it by a, shall we say, Man in Black, to be its custodian. The rest of the story follows Gwendy's experiences, her stellar rise in life and her little experiments with the button box. I loved the story. Short, precise and not one bit monotonous. The setting seemed familiar, as is with King's stories based out of small towns, and that added more charm to the book.
Its a definite recommendation to King's fans, and I think, it would serve as a superb travel companion book.
