The Pram by Joe Hill

4.0

After suffering a miscarriage, a couple moves to Maine. Marianne is struggling visibly, while Willy struggles silently. In town, Willy goes into a store, and the shopkeeper allows him to take an old stroller, a pram, to load his groceries and walk them home. As Marianne slowly begins to come back to herself, Willy devolves, fueled by the sinister presence around the pram, where a baby’s coos can be sometimes heard.

I thought this was eerie and strange and I loved it. The toll that the loss of a child can take on someone is deep and I thought this play in it was well done and very well written, especially for such a short read.
