"Her mom hadn’t dated since the disaster that ended her last marriage. She hadn’t been able to trust anyone since. Not that Imani blamed her. Almost getting killed by your husband’s mistress tended to do that to a person."

Dr. Imani Kemp goes back to her hometown of Peachtree Cove, Georgia to stop her mom from getting married. Imani's mom is marrying a man she recently met. Still not fully healed from the betrayal of her father, Imani does not trust men and doesn't want her mom make a mistake. When Imani arrives, she sees a man, Cyril Dash, and she is very attracted to him. However, she stumbles during an awkward introduction. Imani later discovers Cyril is the son of the man her mom to marry. Cyril is dealing family trauma as well. The death of his mom caused him and his dad to relocate to quiet Peachtree Cove. Cyril is fine with his dad remarriage. Imani and he try their best to work together to plan the wedding and try not to give in to their mutual physical and emotional attraction. However, secrets come out and things take a turn. Imani was very irritating. She wanted to stay alone, like herself, and I did not agree with that. Her attitude was very juvenile at times. She underestimated her mother's ability to take care of herself. I loved the small town environment of the book and Imani reconnecting to her friends and family. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
