Second Language Acquisition by Rod Ellis

Would refer to it again for theories on second language acquisition. Most notably, entertained the theory that how attached the person is with the target language’s culture, the quicker and better they pass from basic fluency to “native-level” fluency in the language. For example, a migrant in the US that still feels attached to their country’s culture more than the US’s, will continue to speak with “an accent” decades after living in the US. While someone that loves US culture, will start speaking more like a “gringx” in just a couple of years.
