The connection is based in the authors universe in a series, but can be read as a stand alone. This is the first romance book in while that I have loved with a perfect amount of steamy romance, smut, and character building. The premise of the book really connected with me and is definitely for those who are seeking new adult stories where the MC isn't a fresh and perfect skinny 18 year old. The love story in this is realy and emotional.
