I'm honestly so shocked by how much I LOVED this book. I wasn't a fan of MXTU's other series Heaven Official's Blessing, but I really wanted to like this series and thank GOD I held out that hope. This series had none of the things I disliked about the other series. I was legit giggling, and kicking my feet while reading this.

As I said with Heaven Official's Blessing: MXTU is really good at writing the horror/mystery element. As always that was so fun to read, however unlike Heaven Official's Blessing this series completely lacked the Sherlock style ending (THANK GOD). The mysteries in this one were solved in an easy to follow way that didn't need outside information about the fictional world that had not been previously given (Thank GOD for mildly amnesiac main characters). This one also did not have any of the pacing issues that Heaven Official's Blessing  had. There was no point in which it felt slow or episodic during the book.

Also Wei Wuxian is SO FUN. He is such an enjoyable main character and the entire dynamic between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji is so funny and cute. Ngl I was listening to Sabrina Carpenter's new album Short and Sweet and honestly it really added to the vibe.  Please, Please, Please  is their song. Sorry, I'm not taking opinions on that its just true.
