This couple is probably the most endearing couple, and the most deserving of a HEA. Both Wheeler (the male lead) and Poppy (the female lead) have had a painful past that they need to overcome before fully accepting their happy ending. This book is all about what love is. What a person does or doesn't do if they really love someone. It's also about being able to move on from a hurtful past and allowing others in. The story is well and beautifully written. It was hard to put down. There were a few humorous moments (though this is not a comedy.) There are a few more teary eyed moments. One or two twists/surprises. Lots of heartwarming moments. Salvaged is part of the Saints of Denver series (which is part of the Marked Men series) but you can get through this book without any problems if you haven't read the others. But you will better understand and appreciate their story if you at least read 'Rowdy' and 'Riveted' beforehand. (Poppy's backstory is played out in 'Rowdy' and Wheeler's in 'Riveted'.) There are some seriously dark situations that may be a trigger for some readers. Abuse and rape (memories of) being the biggest. Because of the topic in this story, I would recommend this for mature readers.
