Wow. This was awesome.
I'm not really a fantasy person and a lot of the world building bits went a little over my head but I adored these characters and this whole world. I love the talk of gender throughout this novella and I really wish our society allowed people to be genderless and then later choose, that would be amazing.
I also really loved the sibling dynamic here, I'm a huge fan of sibling bonds. I loved Akhea as a rebel and found him to be a really interesting main character. Mokoya was also a great character and I'm looking forward to where her story will go.
I really loved this world and even if the whole rebellion war-ish thing went over my head I still thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy and I cannot get enough of the way gender is portrayed here!
