This book took me a bit, I won’t lie. I was very over whelmed by how big it was. But I took it section but section, and damn, I’m so happy I did. Not only can I say I devoured a 800 page book in about two weeks, but I can say I have found one of my new favorite books.

The world building is so extensive and rich. It can be a little too heavy at once, but soon you know the myths like the back of your hand. I will never get over how descriptive the author is. Her amazing descriptions of landscapes, castles, towns, and oceans blew me away. I struggle to visualize thing, but this book made me see everything in sharp focus.

The main cast of characters were all extremely love able in their flaws. Each character felt so real and fleshed out. Beside Nicylas (who I did not enjoy reading from), all of the POVs were interesting. Seeing all the characters come together really helped make the world seem so small and connected.

Honestly, I can not recommend this book enough. It’s such a beautiful fantasy, love, action, and political drama story. A modern classic.
