Copper for the Countess by Sally Britton

4.0

You know what they say, when it rains….it pours cowboys.

Ok that’s technically incorrect but the fact that I’ve read two cowboy romances in the last month when in the last 2 years prior I’ve read none. There must be something in the water.

Copper for the Countess is about a recently widowed woman who has sailed to America with her daughter and a American cowboy who has more recently has been put in charge of his deceased cousins children. Both are struggling, out of their element and in need of serious help.

*Cue the marriage of convenience bells

What I love about Sally’s books is that these sweet romances always feel authentic to the times. She creates slow burns that develop from tender friendships. Frosty is a serious man in need of a woman’s touch not only in his home but in his romantic life. Who doesn’t love a stern blue eyed cowboy? Evelyn has a tragic, abused past with her beauty used as a curse. She has a hard time trusting and is running out of options.

When these two come together they create this really heart warming symphony. I love marriage of convenience and this love story feels realistic and sweet in nature. There are themes of family, community and reaching out to help those in need.

Plus the mentions of Arizona and Oklahoma put a little bit of home in this story for me.

If you are a regency romance fan but would like to add a western twist to it…then I say pick this one up!
