What a great thriller for nature lovers! I was very impressed with the accuracy of the science that the author mingled in - she's a scientist too so I'm happy that was clear from the writing. This book kept me interested enough that I nearly read it all in one sitting. And that's really all I ask of a thriller - that it keeps me on the edge of my seat and has just enough twistiness to keep me guessing! There were a couple character twists that I didn't see coming, and the whole situation on the mountain, once it was revealed, was really a wild & strange set of circumstances. Alex is a really strong female character who can totally hold her own alone in a remote and hostile setting. She was just - almost too perfectly equipped to deal with the obstacles laid out for her. I couldn't quite believe that she always made it out of these situations so easily. By the end, all I wanted for Alex was for her to be able to finish her wolverine study in peace and for her to relax and enjoy the winter on the mountain. But - this is the first in a new series, so of course Alex's adventures aren't over! And honestly, I'm excited about that. Can't wait for more in this series.
