Now don’t get me wrong, I was so insanely excited for this book to come out when Rick announced it. And I absolutely loved every single line and page, it took me right back to my childhood and the love so felt for the original trio. The fact that this will be stretched into a trilogy is  thrilling and I’m looking forward to seeing where it can go, especially based on the layers of timeline done with Percy’s story in other Riordanverse texts. I will say that this book had a younger tone and style than any of Ricks other books, which was a slight disappointment just because the majority of the PJO fan base is now much older as are Percy and Annabeth which I felt should have been represented in the stylistic development of the book. I’m quite glad that people still love PJO as much as I do.
