A masterpiece! Lyrical, complex, just absolutely buzzes with longing and the heat of the city.

We get several intertwined stories of generational trauma as well as the trauma of racism/slavery/poverty. And on top of that, one of the most beautiful stories of love and passion—I would argue the strongest love story being that of Violet with herself. Couldn’t recommend this more.
