Betrayed by P.C. Cast, Kristin Cast

5.0

The second book in the House of Night series sees Zoey Redbird struggling to redefine the Dark Daughters, as she has been chosen as their new leader.

In a series of twists and turns, the plot thickens as humans Zoey had known before becoming marked start being killed, presumably by vampires. Juggling two boyfriends, Zoey has to save her human "almost ex-boyfriend" Heath, and in the process uncovers an unsettling secret about her mentor, Neferet, and her true intentions.

Hilariously written and very fast-paced, this book kept me up reading it into the early hours of the morning, desperate to finish it and move onto the next one. Highly recommended.

Rating: PG-13
Moderate language, intense violence, some sex, and mild drug content.
