ReCOgnition: Oxygen Debt Part 1 by Mark Dowson

4.0

I’ve received a digital copy in exchange for a review. Thanks so much Moonlight Booktours for hosting this book tour and for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it!

Oxygen Debt, published in 2019, is the first book in the Reco2gnition trilogy, followed by Co-Anda 19 Vaccine in 2021 and Hypno-Xia in April 2022.

The author has done a great job at mixing entertainment with information - despite the fact that seemingly difficult topics such as energy production and the hazards of nuclear power are at the center of the plot, it wasn’t difficult to follow the story. The book ends with a cliffhanger that will make you want to keep reading the second part as soon as possible in order to find out what happens next.

What is more, the plot was well developed and had alternating timelines which I love. The past and the present have been merged amazingly. The story is set in the year 2112, but there are frequent flashbacks to 2017.

I would highly recommend reading this book if you’re a fan of science fiction!
