I was impressed by the writing style of the author, but certain elements of the plot fell flat for me. We never really learn much about the main character and her motivations behind the friendships she forms.

Spoiler We also never learn anything about how the bunny rituals work - how/why. It's an odd thing to keep mysterious and that felt dissatisfying to me.
