I really don’t like media that feels like it’s trying to be smarter than it is, and that’s what I felt here. The writing felt bland with an air of “Isn’t this so intriguing?” when not much really happens. I’d say if you want a coming-of-age, read John Green. If you want a character musing over their life, read To Kill a Mockingbird. I was hoping for cozy spooky vibes like Scooby-Doo, and this was not it.
