The Best-Laid Plans by Sarah M. Eden

4.0

I must say, I am guilty of judging a book by its cover. Sometimes I am fooled, a beautiful cover doesn’t always produce a beautiful story, but in this case my assumption most definitely proved true. This absolutely gorgeous, enchanting cover encompasses an equally beautiful and enchanting story.

The Best-Laid Plans was a sweet story of friendship and encouragement and budding romance. Ellie is a lovely young lady that is never allowed to be her true self. Her parents and sister, all absolutely detestable, continue to extinguish her bright and glowing personality with hurtful and demeaning reprimands. Fortunately for Ellie, she finds a formidable ally in Artemis. Together the two concoct a ruse to thwart her parents aspirations. Artemis enlists the help of Charlie and Newton to help carry out her plan.

Newton, himself has a somewhat unfavorable position with his own parents. They do not agree with his dream of becoming a barrister and he doesn’t agree with their intentions of him forming an romantic attachment with Artemis.

Artemis and Charlie definitely bring out the best in Ellie and Newton. And while Ellie and Newton have “the best laid plans” they end up with an unexpected result.

Looking forward to The Best Intentions!
