Twintuition: Double Vision by Tia Mowry, Tamera Mowry
3.0
Tia and Tamera are beautiful and talented women. Double Vision was a fun book to read about two black girls who have premonition powers.
I really wish I could give it a higher rating but there was something that bugged me a lot in the book. Although well written, I didn't feel that Cassie and Caitlin were sixth grade girls. At the very least it seems that we were dealing with 15 year olds not 11 year olds. I was so worried about them being allowed to roam a new city alone and going to football games alone. I'm not sure what parents allow so much freedom for their small children. This is a recipe for someone to get kidnapped or raped or anything. And they were basically able to dictate what their plans were going to be. When I was their age and the young cousins that I know, it's not that way in the slightest. As a kid, places you go and things you do depends on your parents and how they're feeling a lot of the time. The freedom comes later and maybe when you have a license and can drive yourself around. And why is an 11 year old the first to scene when a football player get injured? That was very unbelievable.
Apart from the aforementioned issues, I really liked the plot. Yes, it's juvenile but still enjoyable to read. Cait is my favorite by a long shot. Cass is too much of a follower and susceptible to falling for peer pressure. Their mom seems to be strict but with the freedom she gave them I'm not buying it. She doesn't let them wear makeup but she lets them go wherever and whenever.
I will continue reading he series and see if things get better. I can't wait to see if they find a way to control their visions. It should be an interesting next book.
