Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy

3.0

Jude drove me insane, I hated Sue and don’t even get me started on that bitch Arabella... Little Father Time was actually the only person with anything even resembling common sense in the whole book and personally I think he did everyone a favour by doing you-know-what.

Sadly it went on so long that I actually found finishing it to be a chore but there is a brilliant story buried amongst all those many, many, many words. I think I might start looking for abridged versions of these 19th century classics in future as I’m much more about the plot than the “beauty of the language”.
