The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

3.5/5

I was really excited to dive into this book and it was nothing like I imagined. I feel like this book isn’t marketed or talked about with the huge trigger warning of suicide and depression that it needs. That came as a bad surprise considering what a large part of the book it was. I really was imagining something more whimsical.

I thought the story was really repetitive which was given to the structure of the story but I kinda predicted the whole thing (not a norm for me). Still, it was something I enjoyed listening to (I listened on audible for this one). The chapters were short (always a plus!) and the writing was well done. If they did another book in this series I would probably read it, but with more realistic expectations.
