After the Funeral by Agatha Christie

4.0

Richard Abernethie, a rich, elderly man dies, soon followed by his younger sister Cora, who is murdered brutally at her home.

But was Richard also a victim of murder? Why was Cora killed, and by whom? And do any of the broke and disgruntled Abernethie clan have blood on their hands? Hercule Poirot is called in to sort out the mystery, and does so in his usual grand style. Highly recommended, not least for its portrait (much like Taken at the Flood) of the economic difficulties faced by postwar Britons.

Reference is made in the novel to Lord Edgware Dies; Poirot describes the Edgware case as having been a difficult one.
