This was a book club pick and not something I would have picked up on my own. The writing itself is fine and for the most part flows quite well. There are some spots where the writing struggles to transition from an intimate scene back to the plot. Essentially at it’s core this is a will they won’t they book with family tragedy thrown in to the keep the reader interested. Your standard light hearted romance novel with some dark undertones that at times take the reader out of the novel.
