I couldn't help but root for Allister from the start of this one, and throughout their journey the bond that grows between him and Attina is wonderful. And the banter in this book is just funny! I found myself laughing out loud many times.
I finished this in a day because I had to see how they ended up. Are they fated mates? Will they make it to the towns safely? Will James catch them? And what the hell, James has become so horrible so fast, it's like something has changed inside of him, or he's hidden his true self for quite some time. I have a couple of ideas about what's going on with him, but I've got a couple of books to go!
Attina, Raven, and Ned leave Sanctuary in search of supplies for their people. They find Allister almost immediately and decide that he can help her learn to use her powers. As they go from town to town the outlook is bleak. Encountering more Solis and discovering more about her power and who she is, Attina embraces who she is...and who she must become.
Reliving horrors and experiencing new ones, Attina is faced with the reality of what she hopes can become of her and Allister, but also of just how dangerous James may be.
