Tense and vicious, I couldn't put it down. An intense horror story that still had a lot to say about the world and the people that inhabit it. It's interestingly structured - the plot basically ends 2/3 of the way through, and the remainder of the novel is just the characters having an almost philosophical dialog that reframes everything that came before it. Still it remained gripping until the very last sentence.
Graphic: Death, Gore, Mental illness, Misogyny, Violence, Medical trauma, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Sexual content, Suicide attempt, and Fire/Fire injury
