While ‘Everyone Dies Famous in a Small Town’ is a hot favourite among the Carnegie shortlist, I cannot help but feel a bit deceived.
I thought the short stories would have concluded with the characters interacting in some way, and so while listening I tried my hardest to remember every character. However, not only were characters (apart from a couple) quite forgettable, but there’s actually no real conclusion to the stories.
