Transitional: In One Way or Another, We All Transition by Munroe Bergdorf

4.0

Who knew Munroe Bergdorf was such a high profile celeb? I certainly didn't before reading her memoir. She was surprisingly candid in her story of growing up a black trans woman in the UK. The first half of the book felt like reading about an authentic queer life, and not of a "model origin story". This is something I really appreciate. I felt I was listening to a friend talk about their struggles on a very intimate manner. The latter part of the book was then an eye opening criticism of being a black trans woman in the modelling industry.
