I have been staring at this graphic novel from a far since it came into the bookstore. I had high hopes for it and I can say with pure confidence that it did not disappoint. From the topics that it covers (colonialism, prejudice, military's exploitation on the young/poor and the consequences of war) to simply just the artwork its a *chefs kiss*. Aiza has always wanted to be a squire so when the opportunity came, she had to take it. If you love rooting for the underdog you'll love rooting for Aiza. She's quick witted, determined, and feisty! I want to know everything about all these characters!
