This was another stellar book from Louise Penny. I say that even though it was not always easy to read. Some of that is from the emotions of the characters: sometimes, I was like “I need to set this book down now,” even though I had more time available to read. Some was also due to my memories of being a young teen, watching the news coverage of the École Polytechnique killings from a station a few hours away from me, broadcasting from the city where those events happened .
As always, Penny’s characters are deep and real. They (and Three Pines) are the reasons I can’t wait to return, each time a new novel is published
