In many ways, this is your typical vampire story just set in a small high school in Japan. Our protagonist is attacked one night while walking to the store by a mysterious young woman who bites him and when he awakens in the hospital, he feels different in an undefined way. As he tries to go about his daily life as his class’s “errand boy” (a nice title for a student who is rather unpopular in their class), he feels increasingly stranger. He smells blood everywhere, craves a taste of it. He can’t stop thinking about the girl who attacked him and her fangs, her question to him, “Do you want to be like me?”

Tbh, it’s kind of a slow story and, in this first volume, there’s not much tension. It’s fairly run-of-the-mill. Most of the characters are kind of static and shallow. The setting is really nondescript. It could be interesting for the right reader but I’m not sure if that’s me~
