Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire by Jehad Abusalim, Jennifer Bing, Mike Merryman-Lotze

5.0

Light in Gaza is incredibly illuminating, telling the stories and history of Palestinian people living in Gaza. I enjoyed how each of the essays focused on a particular aspect of life in Gaza, and the impact of Israeli occupation.  My favorite chapters were Lost Identity, Artificial Intelligence as a Tool for Restoring Palestinian Rights, In the Haze of Fifty-One Days, and Let Me Dream. I highly recommend this book for everyone! It is both heartbreaking and hopeful, but more importantly helps us all understand the suffering and resilience of Palestinian people.
