What I Ate in One Year (and Related Thoughts) by Stanley Tucci
3.0
After finishing his previous book, Taste, I remarked that I would listen to Stanley Tucci read me the phone book... and he more or less took me up on it. Some passages of this book were interesting, but it was mostly a narrative of his food diary and calendar. There were very few interesting anecdotes, and by the end, I found myself rather annoyed with him.
It came off as either indulgent or the equivalent of a band putting out a holiday album—like he was under contract to the publisher for one more title, and this was it. The content would've been better served as a series of Instagram posts.
I still enjoy his cooking and his acting, but this book was a big disappointment after he set the bar so high with Taste.
