Girl Like a Bomb by Autumn Christian

It's rare to find an author who writes with such powerful, evocative language. There's something so desperate and vital in the prose and the sense of wonder and longing it creates.

That said, while the story started off really strong, the plot progression went a bit off the rails in the middle in the book. It started feeling silly at some points and then a bit shallow by the end. The book could use some more foreshadowing and seeding of the later themes so it doesn't feel so disconnected.

I'm definitely going to be looking for more books from this writer.
