Rose Madder by Stephen King

3.0

The first 40-50% of this book was fantastic and I was so sure that I'm reading a 5 star King book. Unfortunately, the fantasy element was then introduced and I was so thrown off, bored and annoyed and lost all interest and care for the story. Once we got back to reality, I got into the plot again and I really enjoyed most of the things that followed and kept me at the edge of my seat. However, then the ending was obviously also fantasy-related and I hated it with a passion. It was such a cheap and easy was to end the story. I'm very disappointed because I would've absolutely loved this if it was just kept in the real world and the thriller genre.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how detailed and gruesome things Norman did were and I liked the way Rosie developed throughout the book, I just wish it weren't all shadowed by a stupid magical spider lady who took all the credit. Complete bullshit.
