Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St. Clair

2.0

The beginning of this book was soooo slow. Like extremely. I read and re-read it about three times. One of the biggest things I liked about this book was that it gave an background introduction which extended beyond what we had known about the characters in the first book but beyond that, the plot wasn't giving much else.
The amount of sex scenes included in this was so unnecessary and just unrealistic. There's no reason for this book to include so many sex scenes and especially after many, many, many near-death experiences. I appreciated St. Clair's desire to give us more backstory on the characters but this didn't really feel like it gave any substance at all.

As stated multiple times in other reviews, it does seem that this might be a great set-up for a third book. It wasn't the best but definitely could've been worse (and better). There were multiple scenes where I was shocked, so much so that while this book had no substance (in regards to character development), I was entertained.
